A little bit of history
According to the ancient Egyptians, Marshmallow, was the food of the Gods. The Egyptians have been feasting on this gooey delight as early as 200BC. Did you know, that marshmallows were made from the mallow plant that grows in wild marshes, hence the name `marshmallow`. The Egyptians squeezed sap from the plant mixing it with honey and nuts. However, it was not until the 19th century when the French, in typical innovative style, refined the recipe into the fluffy, soft, white sweet we recognise and love today.
